is a collection of advice, words of encouragement, and recipes by wives of Gospel Preachers' for preachers wives, but also intended for every woman striving to live the Christian life. Over fifty preachers' wives from seventeen states and three foreign countries answer questions and give advice on twenty-eight topics relating to the role of preacher's wife.

I am not a preacher's wife, however, my mother, grandmother, aunts, and sister-in-law are or were during their lives.

My brother and sister-in-law live in NJ and work with a church near Newark. My brother is a graduate of Freed-Hardeman University and the School of Biblical Studies at Harding. My sister-in-law is a graduate of Harding, as well. They met and married while in the mission field.

I have an uncle who preaches in central Ky. My grandfather, Wayne T. Hall, has preached for over fifty years and continues to preach part-time.

My father, who was from Benton, Arkansas, preached at the Heath Church of Christ in West Paducah, Kentucky. He passed away when he was thirty years old of the Lou Gehrig's disease.

Knowing so many preachers' wives throughout my lifetime I saw a great need for a book such as this, however, not having the experience of a preacher's wife I sought the experts. I compiled their advice, funny stories, and recipes into one book.

Think of this book as you being able to sit down with these women and allow them to talk about their life experiences. They will share stories, give advice, and encourage you in your walk with Christ.

I believe Philippians 2:1-5 serves as an adage for the book

Therefore, if there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion, make my joy complete by being, of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in Spirit, intent on one purpose. Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interest of others. Have this attitude in yourselves, which was also in Christ Jesus.

I also believe 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 relates:

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our afflictions so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

My grandmother passed away in March of 2004. This book was her dream. I hope it will help other preacher's wife know that they are not alone and the joys and struggles of everyday life have been faced successfully by one of her sisters.

There are twenty-eight chapters in the book:

Being Married to the Preacher

Child Rearing

Child's Education

Moving to a New Town

Changing School Systems

Working Outside the Home

Stay at Home Moms

Money Matters and Budgeting

Teaching Children the Bible

Potlucks, Parties, and Showers

Helping Others in Times of Need: Sickness and Death

Mission Work

Gospel Meetings

VBS

Ladies' Bible Class

Ladies' Days

Being Fired

Looking and Trying out

Non-Believing Family Members

Dealing with the Disagreeable

Favorite Verses

The Hardest Part

Losing the Ones We Love

One Piece of Advice

Working with the Youth

Working with the Parents

Positive Activities for the Youth

Activities to be Avoided

Recipes

I hope this book is a blessing to you.
